Sunday....March 11th 2375 10:30 PM

More than a year later from when the last Vanguard flew...

The red alert lights are flashing, smoke is blasting and panels are still sparking as the explode. The bridge is in shambles, the Vanguard floats in space…she dead in the water. Bit of hull and parts float around the ship as it is drifting closer to what looks like a black hole.

Captain Jellico opens her eyes as she is wakened by the pain from her right arm, it is broken. “Computer … “ She coughs. Trying to get her vision to clear up, she see’s bodies laying about. “…computer, confirm that the probe was launched.”

The computer very responds in broken audio and very heavy in static. “Ppppprobe…laun-launched ffffffailure.”

Jellico closes her eyes in misery. “Take all auxiliary power, even life support take … everything and transport the probe off the ship on mark.” She looks down, her chair’s control panel not working.

She painfully gets up and stagers towards the helm. There is a body to the side, she almost falls over by the time she reaches the conn. She types in manually directions for the probe to engage its engines and set in coordinates once its out of the ship.

“Computer…. Energi--” A explosion within the helm station goes off, tossing the captain into air and landing on the railing with her arm. She screams in pain, “Energise!” She screams, and the probe does beams off. The ship has several more explosions as the probe flies off away from the ship.

Jellico isn’t moving, everything goes back to being still. As the probe flies off, the external systems blink because of a message inside the probe.

Jellico breaths out. “At least we’ll know that its not what it--” Silence.
